Bread Kofta Curry recipe

Ingredients:
  • For Kofta:
  • Bread 4-5 slices
  • potatoes 2 medium
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice 1 tsp
  • Oil for deep frying the koftas
  • Salt to taste
  • For Gravy:
  • Tomatoes 2
  • Onion 1
  • Green chillies 3-4
  • Garlic 3-4 cloves
  • Ginger 1/2 " piece
  • Red Chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin Seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Parmesan Cheese 1 tbsp finely shredded (optional)
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

  • Procedure:
  • For Kofta :
  • Boil and mash the potatoes.
  • Wet the bread slice with some water and mix it with the mashed potatoes.
  • Add salt, garam masala and lemon juice.
  • Mix well and shape them in oval or round shape.
  • Deep fry them in the oil, drain on a paper towel and set aside.
  • For Gravy:
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add cumin seeds, turmeric powder, chopped onion, green chillies, garlic and ginger and fry until lightly browned.
  • Add the tomato pieces . Allow to cook for a while.
  • Add salt, Red Chili powder and Garam masala. Stir well.
  • Add half cup water and boil the gravy for a while.
  • Add the Kofta to the gravy just before serving.
  • Serve hot garnished with grated cheese and coriander leaves .
  • Tastes good with parathas, naans or Jeera Rice.
